At Long Last!

Its been a tough week to be a Spurs fan with the loss of Robbie Keane and the seeming never ending list of players following him. But we have good news...at long last David Bentley is a Spurs Player!

With a midfield including Luca Modric, Jermaine Jenas, Jamie O'Hara and now David Bentley i feel that Tottenham are lookin very good for a good strong season!

Goodbye Keano!!!

Robbie Keane to Liverpool! I cant belive it! I had thought that one of the best strikers in the premiership would stay with us to the end of his career but sadly the pull of Champions League football and a chance to play for the club he has supported since he was a boy has resulted in his leaving.

Now i may feel slighlty bitter by this but i am still extremly thankfull for the 80 goals in 197 apperances for the club!

This now leaves us with really only one striker, Darren Bent (who did score 4 goals in our 5-1 victory over Norwich!) and Gio Dos Santos who is kind of striker/attacking midfielder. Hopefully the rumours are true and that we will sign David Bently, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Diego Milito and Andrei Arshavin then we will be looking very good.

Bring on the new season!

Goodbye Robbo!

After three seasons Paul Robinson will leave Spurs for Blackburn Rovers. It may have not all been good times, but depsite these he has been a great servent to the club and made some amazing saves (especialy in the Carling Cup Final!)

From the Spurs website...

"The Club can announce that we have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Paul Robinson to Blackburn Rovers. The goalkeeper joined us from Leeds United in May 2004 and went on to make 175 appearances for us in all competitions and scored one goal against Watford. We wish Paul all the best for the future."

Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Him

Just one of the reasons why Keith Urban is my favourite artist.
The energy he puts into his performance is just amazing. I challange all you out there to put as much into your everyday lives as he put into that one song!

First Pre-Season Friendly = First Win!

Tottenham have been out in spain for some Pre-Season training and have also won there first Pre-Season friendly...against Tavernes!

Now i have never heard of them but its a good sign that the team is working well, and that new singing Giovani Dos Santos scored his first goals in a Spurs shirt.

He was joined on the score sheet by Aaron Lennon, Jamie O'Hara, Tomas Pekhart (Netting for the first time since he moved up to the senior squad) and Steed Malbranque (who in recent days has been linked with a move to Sunderland).

End Result - Tottenham - 8, Tavernes - 0

Good start lads and keep up the good work!

Saddest Song Ever?

Switching between the 2000 songs i have on my ITunes i came across a song i have not heard for a while. Its called 'House Of Pain' By a band called Faster Pussycat (Hold back the crude jokes please) and i reackon that this could be possibly the saddest song i have ever heard!

The song tells the story of a five year old boy (The boy being the singer) who loves to be with his dad (Who doesnt), but his parents fall out and he leaves home. The song then tells of the boys pain as he misses his dad and how he feels alone in his House Of Pain.

For an 80's band, this song is very well written and you really feel the pain through the lyrics.

"Wasn't I worth the time? A boy needs a daddy like a dance to mime and all the time"

"Five years old and talkin' to myself.Where were you? Where'd ya go? Daddy can't you tell?"

"Well if i've learned anything from this, it's how to grow up on my own"

It challanges me to think about kids who are not as lucky as me and who have lost there dad.

Not Another One!

Having spent a very happy half hour watching The Two Ronnies Sketchbook on BBC1, i was shocked (yes that is the word) to find that there will be yet another talent show on TV.

Last Choir Standing is a battle between Choirs all around the country who want to become...guess what...the last choir standing!

Nowadays TV is becoming a mixture of Reality TV and Talent shows. Im sure the Choir's are talented but why do they need to become the best on some crappy TV show?

This is why we need more shows like The Two Ronnies Sketchbook and Top Gear...Good quality entertainment not seeing who is the best out of a not very good bunch!

Good Role Models Or Just Big Children?

Now dont get me wrong, i love football. I am a massive Tottenham Hotspur fan and will watch any match on tv that i can. But this is just stupid.

Chelsea are apprently willing to bid £50 million for Kaka. Now i dont know how true this is, but the £30 million they paid for Andriy Shevchenko was rediculuos and look were that got them. Frank Lampard is on the verge of moving from Chelsea to Inter Milan just because Chelsea are not willing to pay him more then £150,000...a week!

Manchester United's Ronaldo is also calling himself a slave because he can not handle his on transfer.

For any normal person earning £150,000 a week is a dream! Football should not be about who earns the most, it should be about Winning, Goals and setting good example to young sports people.

Lets hope that soon it can return to being about the beautiful game and not about wags and money!

Concert Review - Def Leppard, Whitesnake & Black Stone Cherry

On the 26th of june i was extremly privileged to go with a friend to see two of my favourite bands as wembley arena. Def Leppard and Whitesnake are two of the biggest bands from the 80's and with famous songs such as 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' and 'Here I Go Again' they were destined to raise the roof!

Supporting them were a Southern/Hard Rock band from Edmonton, Kentucky. The amount of energy they put into there performance was amazing, and although the sound was not as good for them as it was for Def Lepp and Whitesnake they put on a good show. There songs may not be as catchy but stand out songs were 'Lonely Train' and 'Blind Man'.

Then it was time for the first big hitter Whitesnake. From the first drum beat of the opener 'Best Years' to the final guitar chord of 'Still Of The Night' they were amazing. Lead Singer David Coverdale was in fantastic voice (along with crude humour), Guitarists Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach were in superb form whilst Bassist Uriah Duffy, Drummer Chris Frazier and Timothy Drury on the keys carried out there jobs brilliantly. The best song of there set was the Heavy Metal crunch of 'Fool For Your Loving' proving that old bands can still rock...and rock harder then they did in there youth!

Now for the band which i was looking foward to the most...Def Leppard! With Whitesnake rocking everybody's socks of, Def Leppard has a hard task, but one they handled with brilliantly. They kicked of with 'Rocket' from the 'Hysteria' album, and supported by an amazing screen show blasted through hit after hit. As with Whitesnake, they were not scared to show of some new material from there new album with 'Nine Lives' and 'C'mon, C'mon' getting played. There set finnished with 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' and the suprisning set finnisher 'Rock Of Ages' and everyone was left with there ears ringing (for a good reason)!

Seeing as this was my first ever concert, i will always be biased but this was one of the greatest experiences of my life!

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog. Having visited my youth leader's blog a number of times recently i thought that it was about time that i gave it a go.

Generaly a 18 year old male has limited intrests i.e cars, girls and football. Now im not saying that i am any different but i believe there is more to life then this. Being a christian is a big part of my life as is music, formula one and more.

i will try and bring my general thoughts on what is happening in the world to day, reviews on CD's/Films and maybe even some lyrics of songs i write (im a struggling song writer).

enjoy...check out my youth leader and good friend's blog www.warner-bros.blogspot.com
