My Top Three...
Yes i know it has been some time since i last posted (this was pointed out to me by a follower of the Blog on Friday...he will remain un-named...he was a good man), so with very little to rant about (well at least to the world) i felt i wanted to talk about my three favourite music albums.
1.Def Leppard - Hysteria
Big, Bold and 80's, Hysteria is in my opinion the ultimate 1980's Metal experience. Def Leppard may have helped shape the 'Hair Metal' scene but there is nothing embarrising about this album (ok...maybe the Hair). Songs like Pour Some Sugar On Me, Animal and Rocket are big rock anthems whilst tracks like Love Bites and Love & Affection show how well Def Leppard do 'Slow'. This is my favourite album of all time!
2.My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE ARE NOT EMO. Just to get that out of the way, they do not endorse self harm and emo stuff but are a bloody good rock band (sorry if that offended you...you can talk to my agent). The Black Parade is a modern rock classic which takes influences from Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Smashing Pumpkins and good old 70's rock. Emotion runs high in the classic Welcome To The Black Parade and the album screams of 70's on the rocky Dead. This album shows that rock and roll is not dead and that modern bands are not afraid not tribute there heroes.
3.Keith Urban - Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing
A change in mood here. Keith Urban is apart from being known as the husband of Nicole Kidman is a Damn good Country Singer, Guitarist, Bass Guitarist, Drummer, Banjoist, Ganjoist, Mandolinist and Bouzoukist. LPWCT is one heck of a album, from start to finnish it is musicaly brilliant, written beautifuly and produced beyond belief. Country may be seen as old but Country now is rocking and Keith Urban is perhaps the best song writer at the moment. There are so many good tracks on the album Once In A Lifetime, Shine, I Told You So, Faster Car, Everybody, Got It RIght This Time and my personal Favourite Stupid Boy. Learn more about Keith at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?sid=284e3432b325fdaf74d406f015e0384a&refurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fs.php%3Fq%3Dkeith%2Burban%26init%3Ds%253Agroup%26k%3D200000010%26n%3D-1%26sid%3D284e3432b325fdaf74d406f015e0384a&gid=20719900632

Lewis Hamilton...WORLD CHAMPION
What a brilliant achievement for one of the best young drivers around today. He did however make life for every one in the country just a little bit harder when with a few laps to go he lost the all important 5th place which was all he needed to win the championship. As Massa crossed the line to win the Brazilian Grand Prix it looked as though he would become to first Brazilian champion since the late great Ayrton Senna, but with only two corners to go Timo Glock slowed in the wet conditions and that allowed Hamilton to take back 5th place and the World Championship!
It has been a vintage year for Grand Prix racing with a host of great races (including Brazil) and a frantic tense fight for Motorsports greatest prize.
In the end the right man won, despite making as many mistakes as Massa throughout the season Lewis Hamilton showed at many points throught out the season that he is a worthy champion and none more then his stunning drive in awful conditions at Silverstone.
Will 2009 be a walk over for Lewis? I doubt it...but until the lights go off at the start in Australia we can bask in the glory of Lewis Hamilton and know that the stewards will not take this away from him.
WELL DONE LEWIS!!!

And I Thought Hell Was As Worse As It Could Get!
http://www.goingreen.co.uk/xs_i/G-Wiz%20angled.small.jpg
First of all why does it have the name that would be more suited to a cheesy CBBC Science programe? Its as stupid as going to sleep on a lit Gas Stove...Painfull as well!
Second point...Who does it look like it has been designed by a four year old who has been blindfolded? It for some reason has as many lines as Keith Richards and looks worse then the 100000000 year old Guitar player. Why does it also have a massive dent at the bottom of the door? This is in fact clever as somebody (could be me!) would kick it anyway and so they have avoided the "Well my G-Wiz doesnt have a dent in the door"...which i think unites all G-Wiz drivers in a strange and slightly twisted way.
The G-Wiz is also i believe eco-friendly, which i suppose is a good thing but it would help if it didnt look so stupid...actually its like Bono on wheels!
The Nissan Cube is still by far the worst looking car in the world but the G-Wiz is not far behind. Look at it like this...the Cube is Satan and The G-Wiz is Abaddon.

Tottenham Rant
Now it is obvious if you read my blog that i am a massive Tottenham Hotspur fan and despite playing like a bunch of enviromentists for the majority of our games this season...i belive that a cure is not far away.
The biggest issue is our director of football Mr Damien Comolli. When our ex manager Martin Jol asked for a striker, a midfielder and a defender to improve the squad, Mr Comolli came back with Darren Bent, Younes Kaboul and Kevin Prince Boateng...I mean come on! I could have done better then that! Mr Comolli also managed to let Sergio Garcia and Diego Milito slip through are fingers on the final day of the market, which would have helped are striker issues.
Another is our captain. Ledley King is a great leader, player and capatin but with his knee problem can not play every game. Now why not just give the capatin armband to Jonathan Woodgate? He is a defender, can see the whole team playing and is not short of ambition! Also remove it from Jenas...He has one good game in five games, which is not good!
Sorry for yet another Tottenham rant but it is getting to a point were something needs to be done...and quickly!

How to waste some time?
Now in a typical Rock Band (Singer, Lead Guitarist, Rhythm Guitarist, Bass Player, Drummer and Keyboardist) you often get lots of personalities. Tommy Lee, Nikky Sixx and Vince Neil are examples and they are all from one band! But what makes the ultimate Singer or the Defenitive Keyboardist? Well i think i have worked it out.
So here it goes starting with the front man, the Singer. Now often the Singer tends to have the biggest ego of the band, David Lee Roth (Van Halen) has an ego about the size of America and also talks a load of crap, which lead singers also tend to do! Annoyingly they also tend to be the 'good looking' ones and are often the ones who the girls all fancy.
Next the Lead Guitarist. The man who can single-handedly melt the face of a 14 year old boy, needs to be an icon. Take Slash (Guns N' Roses, VR) everyone will at least know the name and more often then not will be able to say that he wears a top hat whilst he plays. Often the Lead Guitarist has an ego "I'm the best damn guitar player ever" but also needs to have the abilty to fall out with everyone who questions his skills.
Alongside the Lead is the Rhythm Guitarist. I get the impression that they tend to be the nice guys, the one's that if you were a girl could take home to see your parents and they would except him for who he is. They dont always have the same amout of skill as the lead but that doesnt bother them, as they are just happy playing music and being in a Band.
Next up the Bassist. Bassists can be rather unfashionable for example John Deacon (Queen), but can also be very cool for example Steve Harris (Iron Maiden). Both often wore/wear shorts on stage...I reackon only a Bassist could pull that off!
The Keyboardist or should i say the Oxbridge graduate is often the more intelligent one of the band. The late Rick Wright (Pink Floyd) and Rick Wakeman both studied at University.
So what is left? Ah yes the Drummer. Often at the end of jokes (What is the last thing a Drummer says in a band?...Why dont we try one of my songs!, What do you call a Drummer who has just split with his Girlfriend?...Homeless!) and is often very annoying Lars Ulrich (Metalica). Also no one cares what they look like because often they can not be seen!
So there you go, a step by step guide at who should be in a band!

Not Long To Go!

- Crashing into Fernando Alonso in the Bahrain Grand Prix
- Crashing into Kimi Raikkonen in the Canadian Grand Prix
- Mad tyre choice during Italian Grand Prix qualifying
- Losing his head at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix
He has also not been helped by the stewards (Think Referees) giving him a number of penaltys for...
- Blocking a faster car in Malaysia
- Crashing into Raikkonen
- Cutting a corner in the French Grand Prix
- Cutting a corner in the Belgian Grand Prix (Something that was really not deserving of a penalty)
When you look at the list of Formula One champions they are all great drivers, and i mean great drivers. People like Michael Schumacher, Ayton Senna, Damon Hill. There are many good drivers who have not won the Championship for one reason...they are not great they are good. Now im not being rude but that is the truth. And the reason i am saying this?
Lewis Hamilton is a great...Felipe Massa is not.
Come on Lewis end twelve seasons of hurt and put England on top of Formula One!

Lets Stick Together!

- We have yet to win a game this season
- We have a team that has yet to gel
- In the games we have scored in, we have only scored one
- Darren Bent is not a good replacment for Dimitar Bebatov and Robbie Keane
- We sit bottom of the League
- We have had our worst start to a season since the same year the Titanic sank...1912!
Now this is obviously the worst thing ever for us Spurs fans but even though i was close throwing all my toys out of my metaphorical Pram after our defeat to Hull (I mean c'mon they have a Tiger on the badge!) but this does not mean i have given up on our club!
Juande Ramos is a brilliant manager and obviously knows a thing about Football after some very good buys during the Transfer Market. Ok players like Luca Modric, David Bently, Roman Palvachenko have yet to hit form but i believe given time we will begin to show the real Tottenham Hotspur, The Tottenham Hotspur that was almost scoring 2-3 goals per match last season and the Tottenham Hotspur that so brilliantly beat Chelski to the Carling Cup!
This is not a time to start pointing fingers, ok Roman Pavlachenko has a silly hard to spell name and we have a manager who still cant talk to Match Of The Day because he is not comfortable with English but if we really support our team then we have to stick together and have faith in our team!
And as for those fans who awfuly abused Sol Campbell with taunts in our match at Portsmouth i really hope you all get banned from comming to a Tottenham game because that is not what supporting a team is about!
C'Mon You Spurs!!!

Am I Evil?
Now for me being an avid listerner to most things Guitar, i have in the past been acused of listering to Satanic music. Why? well because the song happend to be a Heavy Metal track by the band Iron Maiden. Now i am not Blind or Deaf and i know that there is music out there that does tickle the Devil's fancie and i am well aware that this type of music is not helpful for anyone (it can lead to Whitchcraft, Weird Masks and bad cases the purchase of a G-Wiz!) but i feel that if you are mature enough and realise the songs context then there is no issue.
Lets do a case study (no skiping, questions will be asked!) and look at a band that you may have heard of called Iron Maiden.
Iron Maiden, a product of the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) are, in my mind the biggest Heavy Metal band of all time (and i dont want any of you thrash fans telling me that it is Metallica because you are wrong and if you disagree then bad luck i am telling you...YOU ARE WRONG!) and have sold over 80 million albums worldwide, pretty impressive! This has not been achieved without problems. The band has many times, especially with the 1982 release 'The Number Of The Beast' been acused of being Satanic, now with songs such as 'The Number Of The Beast' and 'Children Of The Damned' maybe they leave themselves open to abuse but this is what annoys me.
Picture the scene, a single-minded Human being is walking down an aisle in HMV and comes across the tiny Heavy Metal section which has for some reason been swapped around with the Dance section anyway, notices a band called Iron Madien and picks up one of there CD's. Looking at the track names the human picks out a track called 'The Fallen Angel'. SHOCK HORROR the fallen angel is what the Devil is, yes that evil being called Satan. Well the band must be Satanic...er no, just cause they write a song called 'The Fallen Angel' does not mean they dance around Stonehenge every Blue Moon and cry out Beelzebub when ever they fall to the ground*.
For me if, a song confuses me i will look into it, do some research into what is actually being said and in what contxet (just like Bible study but more music based). And if the song is actually saying un-helpful and bad things then yes i will delete it from my itunes. Thankfully i am mature enough to know that bands who play Heavy Metal are not always Satanic and i could list a load that are not.
So as i always say, before you start an argument and judge. Actually find out what you are talking about and start behaving like proper people!
So am i Evil for listering to Heavy Metal/Hard Rock music...er NO!

The Future
This has been on my mind alot recently (No, as interesting as it sounds Taxology is not something that keeps me awake till the morning hours!), i have been thinking alot about the future. Where will it lead me? My Friends? People i have grown up with?
I find it fascinating to think that one friend could be the Prime Minister (And would probably do a much better then Mr Brown), one friend could be a Solicitor, a Doctor, a Sports person, a Drug Dealer? Who knows!
As they all go away to different corners of the country, i wonder if this is on there minds or all they are worried about will be how will i live without Mum doing the washing, i hope the Girls are fit and were is the cheapest bar?
One friend could for some reason decide they in fact do quite like Taxology and make a living out of it, another could have a musical Epiphany and decide that they do infact quite like Bon Jovi! There are literally so many possible outcomes from the next few years.
As well as being interesting, i also find it scary. To think that our futures with one bad move, one bad roll of the Dice will see us thrown by the scruff of the kneck from the top of a corporate Bank job all the way down to being Farmer Jim with Sheep!
Ok maybe that was a bit OTT but still it is very scary. I like to think that in the future i will have a wife and children, a nice car and a lovely house, But what if i end up with a Crap Flat and an Alien for company? That would, to be honest SUCK!
Of course this is all in the future, but i really think it should not be something we think about in the future...but think about it now, in the present!

Wish You Were Here

After a short battle with Cancer ex Pink Floyd Keyboardist Rick Wright died on the 15th of September. My thoughts are with his family during this time.
By far his best moment in Pink Floyd was the creation of the epic 'The Great Gig In The Sky' which shows us how talented he was as a musician and song writer.

My Life Is Now Over!
Well obvioulsy those kind people from Nissan with there Sudoku and there Jackie Chan posters are about to unlesh another Beast upon the world...the Nissan Denki Cube.
Now when something is ugly, then it is just ugly...think the Gerkin in London that is ugly. But with Cars you can develope it and bring out a nice lookin new version. Of course not everyone was listering in Technology when the Teacher said your Product must be Aesthetically pleasing and sadly for Nissan they have employed every single one of those Japanese students who were to busy picking there noses and playing Pokemon. Because of this they have designed something that is so ugly i am not goin to put a picture, i will just have a link to a picture!
This is from Wikipedia
"In 2008, Nissan revealed the Nissan Denki (Japanese for “electric”) Cube Concept. Making its debut at the March 2008 New York International Auto Show, the Denki Cube Concept is a lithium-ion battery-powered electric vehicle. Nissan’s compact lithium-ion battery technology, one of the company’s traditional strengths, provides batteries with twice as much energy compared with a conventional cylindrical battery of the same type."
Now to be honest i dont care that it helps to save a Blackbird in a tree...it is just ugly and for that it should be sent to Car Hell!

%***%$£**&%&
Lets look at last season, a bad start meant we had alot of catch up to do and despite a good middle part of the season (including a fantastic Carling Cup win over Chelsea) we left ourselves with to much work to do and could only finnish 11th.
I hope this is not the case this season, but with Sunderland, Boro and Aston Villa out the way, you would have thought a good start would have been on the table!

Thou shall not judge!
Today i will focus on Judging...not the prision type, but the type that lables you as a Chav or a Metalhead.
It really annoys me that a person usualy decides what they think of you by the music you like, say you are at a party and you have just met a girl/boy (not that i would really know how this would go...but i think i have a good idea of how it would go!) and you get on to music, i can guarantee that if you say "oh, i quite like Heavy Metal" then you can wave goodbye to the person and catch the first train to loserville!
Why is this the case? Ok so Metalheads who spend each evening sacraficing Lambs and Dancing around Satan's Motorcycle maybe should be avoided, but normal people who like football, like to meet with friends, chat on msn...people like me?
So many times i have been told that my music is rubbish and im sure that happens for alot of people, surely it is not hard just to say "That is not really my cup of tea" or something along the lines of politeness?
Sorry, slightly left the whole Judging thing for a second but i feel that the Judging and the comments about music is in fact a big problem...and is also rude!
I know alot of people that, like me, who listen to many forms of music (Metal, Pop, Rap, Country) and that just because someone likes 'Old Bands' such as Def leppard or Whitesnake does not mean that there music tastes are stuck on one genre.
It seems that if a song has a Guitar riff or a Solo it is 'uncool' maybe i am wrong, and if i am i will dance the happy dance!
This of course is just my stance on Judging and it will come as no suprise to me if loads of you disagree with me but you cant control what i do in my free time so i will now publish this post, open itunes and get lost in a world of Rage Against The Machine and Iron Maiden!

Concert Review - Def Leppard, Whitesnake & Black Stone Cherry

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog. Having visited my youth leader's blog a number of times recently i thought that it was about time that i gave it a go.
Generaly a 18 year old male has limited intrests i.e cars, girls and football. Now im not saying that i am any different but i believe there is more to life then this. Being a christian is a big part of my life as is music, formula one and more.
i will try and bring my general thoughts on what is happening in the world to day, reviews on CD's/Films and maybe even some lyrics of songs i write (im a struggling song writer).
enjoy...check out my youth leader and good friend's blog www.warner-bros.blogspot.com
p.s the picture is just a random one of Tottenham Hotspur celebrating winning the carling cup last season...CMON U SPURS!!!
